Engagements

Placement

A tutor searched for your family specifically — residential, travelling, or full-time. One global search per engagement, not a shortlist from a database.

ShapeFull curriculum, embedded with the family.
Typical horizon one to three years.

How it works

Four things, each with a cost.

A search per family, not a list

We do not hold a bench and allocate from it. Each engagement opens a fresh search against that student's needs, which is slower and is the reason the match holds.

Five things established before anyone is proposed

Subject and level. Where the student is stuck. The shape of the engagement. Temperament — the match that fails is almost never about subject knowledge, it is about whether the student will talk to them. And availability for the whole term.

You meet the tutor before anything is agreed

By name, in conversation, not as a paragraph in a directory. If they are not right, you meet another. We do not publish profiles: a gallery of tutors is a gallery of people who are mostly unavailable, and it invites you to choose on a paragraph.

The work follows the family

Tutors relocate, travel between residences, and teach through a move. For residential placements the tutor goes where the family goes, and a change of country does not mean a change of teacher.

Where this one sits

One subject, one tutor, or the whole trajectory.

When this is not the right engagement.

If one subject is the problem and the rest is working, a weekly tutor will serve you better and cost less than a placement. We would rather say that now than halfway through a first conversation.

No published rateWhat an engagement costs depends on the student, the subjects and the hours — so we quote after the first conversation, not before it.

The next step is a conversation, not a contract.

Tell us about the student. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right practice — and if we are not, who is.

What happens nextOne conversation, thirty minutes, with someone who will actually run the engagement. No sales call, no proposal deck.
