Engagements
Tuition
Individual subject teaching, weekly, in person or online. Maths and the sciences, for IB, A-Level, IGCSE, CBSE and ICSE.
Typical horizon one to three terms.
Before any of the claims
There is no results table on this page. Here is a lesson instead.
We do not publish student names or results; ask in the conversation and we will go through the specifics. What belongs on a public page is the teaching — so pick the subject you are enquiring about, and get it wrong on purpose.
Physics · IB HL, year one
A ball is thrown straight up in the air. At the exact instant it reaches its highest point, what is its acceleration?
The first lesson
The first lesson is a lesson, not an assessment.
Usually an hour, longer or shorter as the work needs. It is taught by the tutor who will keep teaching — there is no separate assessor, and nothing is proposed before something has been taught.
A transcript already says the student scored 62%. It does not say whether they cannot rearrange the equation, ran out of time, or misread the question — three different problems with three different fixes.
The chapter they are on, or the paper that came back. The tutor watches where the reasoning breaks, which is not reliably where the marks were lost.
The exchange above is the lesson in miniature: concede what was right about the answer, then ask the one thing that makes the gap visible.
By the person who taught the lesson, once they have taught it. It names the topic we start at and why — and that is rarely chapter one.
Subjects and levels
Maths and the sciences. These boards, these levels.
Four subjects, weekly, at the levels below — including both IB Mathematics routes, Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretation. These are the ones we can put in front of a student with a tutor who has taught the current syllabus.
If the subject you need is not on this list, say so in the first line of your message. We will tell you whether we can teach it, or point you to someone who can.
How it works
Four things, each with a cost.
No rotation, and no substitution when someone is unavailable. A tutor who rebuilds their picture of a student every term never gets past the surface of what is wrong.
A student fluent in mechanics and lost in waves does not begin at the start of the syllabus. Find the place it broke and the topics after it often resolve on their own, because they were never conceptually difficult.
Weekly, online or in person. The lesson changes inside the lesson — what the student says in the first ten minutes decides what the next fifty are for.
The list above is the whole list. We would rather send you elsewhere than staff a subject with someone who has never taught the syllabus the student is actually sitting.
Between the lessons
What happens on the other six days.
An hour a week is an hour a week, whoever teaches it. What separates one tutor from another is what the student has to work with once it ends.
What the student got wrong becomes a practice set, and it returns until it stops being wrong. The bank is built on real syllabus material rather than generated filler.
An AI tutor that handles working and notation properly, for the stuck moment between lessons. It does not replace the person teaching, and it is not meant to.
The plan, the materials and the assignments after each lesson sit in one place, updated as the course moves — so you are not asking the student whether they did it.
Where this one sits
One subject, one tutor, or the whole trajectory.
When this is not the right engagement.
If the student needs the whole curriculum held rather than one subject taught, or you are looking for a tutor who lives and travels with the family, that is a different engagement. We would rather say that now than halfway through a first conversation.
And if the deciding factor is the hourly rate, a local tutor or a centre will beat us on it. We would rather say so now than discount to win the comparison.
The next step is a conversation, not a contract.
Tell us about the student. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right practice — and if we are not, who is.
